Now and Then

The Market Fresh crew - Marli, Melissa, me, and Cathryn
My first ever "official" job was working as a cashier at a grocery store, where I made a few close friends. Soon after, the store went out of business; we lost our jobs, but not each other (awww!). Nine graduations, two weddings, numerous moves, and one baby later, we still make sure that we see each other at least once a year. After a couple months of organizing, we all made our way to Marli's house in Pembroke, where her and her husband (who works in the army) now live.

It was a fun and relaxing weekend. We brought each other up to speed on our new work/family/life balance, put together a Greek-themed potluck (I brought baklava from the Nutty Greek Bake Shop in Ottawa, a must try), played games and hung out with this adorable fella' :)

Melissa's wonderful son Wyatt!
The next morning, Marli made us all some yummy french toast before we headed back home to our respective cities.

Thanks to Marli who hosted, Melissa for making us all special gifts (including a slideshow of the last eight years :) as well as Cathryn who drove Holly and I up from Ottawa. Miss you ladies and see you next year! x

  2. I thought of adding about our not-to-be-mentioned traffic run-in, but thought not... I will never forget it though ;-)
